Whoa, read this before doing anything.
Under NO circumstances do you ever just wire the two wires together, you will blow stuff up.
The correct course of action is to have all the wires that previously went to the fog light disconnected, and insulated from everything, especially themselves. Then wire the light to the reverse light circuit in parallel.
As I said above and repeating, NEVER 'complete' the circuit by wiring them to themselves.
