The fires in the adelaide hills are contained, but the fires on the eyre peninsula are still going. My boyfriend is a CFS (country fire service) member and he had a very close call when an unexpected fore fron crossed the CFS truck with him on the back with no shirt on (in the process of getting into CFS clothing)
He is okay, however, 10 people confirmed dead and more unaccounted for.
Homes lost...
One antique home, filled with antiques est. $4m damage
One farmer paid of 15 years of farm debt last week, now has lost it all.
Families torn apart...
I signed up for CFS last month, but have been unable to do my training yet to go fight with them... The CFS and MFS are doing a great job though.
