Mate of mine replaced his front brake pads on his VS... Don't think he tightened his calipers though.... Front right caliper eventually jumped straight off the disc, and me and him spend an hour and a half walking up and down the road trying to find his nice new ebc green brake pads.
He also once lost his oil filter in a similar incident where once again, he forgot to tighten it.
I haven't done anything worth mentioning, except for stuff that has already been mentioned. Watch this space in future though.  :
