There are a lot of different parameters that prevent engine stop. Ford set it up as not to compromise driver comfort or the vehicles operation. It's a pretty smart system. It's getting more and more common. At first I was sceptical, but as I work within Ford product development, I have gotten used to it and I don't mind it now. The only thing is that people that don't know about it, think that you are stalling and restarting your car at the lights. Hahaha
