I just did exactly that. The load area has 4 puny lights on the sides toward the back. I have shelving on one side by the door and a work bench on the other side, they both receive zero illumination from the existing lights.
Bought 2 x 60cm long stick on LED strips fitted above the sliding doors, works absolutely mint, and they cost less than $20 each from Supercheap.
The only thing it’s missing now is a centre console. There is a tray on the floor between the seats, but it’s crap rummaging around trying to find things while you drive.
