Default Re: Selling your car using Autoflip

Hi all,
Just read this thread and thought I'd share my experience with a car consignment yard in Brisbane around 2.5 yrs ago. In 2020 or so I purchased a very schmick '16 FGX XR6 one tonner trayback as a work vehicle. I spent nearly 2 yrs just finding a low km one - I think this one had 56k kms or so and would pass as new almost. Fast forward 2 years and I hurt my knee at a workplace and since have had 9 surgeries including a total knee replacement. Anyway the ute had to go as I owed finance on it. The yard in Brisbane looked at it, asked what I wanted and literally laughed in my face. I was chasing 30k. Old mate says "why do you think it is worth that?" I said find another even advertised in Australia. They couldn't but still said it's only worth 26k. I sold it on Carsales, 3 weeks after it was listed- to the first guy who looked at it and he gave me 31.5k.
Moral of the story is if the car meets the market it will sell. However you need to do your due diligence for your own benefit coz no-one else will worry about your circumstances. I wish I didn't have to sell it but thats the way it goes.
