A penetrant will definitely make a difference, I've had success with Pro-film and Pulse. Alot of the new school glyph's are known as bi-active the missing ingredient is the penetrant making them safer around waterways but less effective overall.
The most important thing like DFB said (I still need to take a pic of our product for you) is the use of a pH buffer. I've had the best results, kill rate, speed and kill of stubborn weeds than anything else.
