Every 6-months, I see my Endocrinologist. I'm fairly well controlled, so the only suggestion he makes is to turn on the high and low alerts in the Libre App. I found the alerts to be annoying, especially the high threshold alarm that would be going off while I was in the middle of speaking with customers. I turned them both off.

This time, he was much more insistent about turning the alerts on. Recent news of a diabetic killing 5 people while driving with low glucose and not having the alerts turned on, is now facing the prospect of that being used against him in court.

I don't know the full details of that story, but it does make me think about the ramifications of my impairment being a public liability, and the tech that's making my life easier could be used against me.
