I have used AutoGlym glass polish and I doubt it would remove water spots and mineral etchings. It's a decent product but would be out of it's depth here.
I would start with a water spot remover first.

Failing that, use a D/A polisher with a compound. Remember glass is way harder than paint so you can be as aggressive as you like.
