In a nutshell, that is what it is all about. There was an ABC satire program awhile ago on this topic. We do not want China threatening major trading route through South China Sea even though it is actually trade with China??
All sabre rattling is certainly helping US economy, we have to buy their hardware and lots of it. If China put tariffs on our barley, thank you very much, USA will fill that gap nicely too
