They are close cousins but the custard version is much bigger and more filling due to the donut base. The eclairs use that French Choux pastry that's quite light in weight and consequently not as filling.

Not even sure they sell those here. I will have to investigate. I guess the closest thing here would a Bee Sting, only they 'are round split in two with custard between.
