Default Apple Watch

Has anyone bought one?

I do like Apple products, but the apple watch has me beat, I'm trying to understand what problem it is trying to solve?

My phone does a pretty good job of keeping the time, no need for a watch, let alone one which is just showing the basics of what my phone is doing in my pocket.

But you know how it is, people will be camping outside of the Apple store to get one.

I'm a bit the same. I didn't understand how it would be any better than pulling out the phone and doing stuff. Then had demo of one, and it is pretty cool what stuff it can assist with (Notifications/glances are pretty good). In saying that, I'm inclined to hold off for the inevitable generation 2.

Although apparently owning a iPhone classes me as a sheep so maybe I better start lining up anyway!

People said the same thing about the iPad, and look where that is now.

There is a spot for this, first with the enthusiasts, then with fitness freaks, people on the go, and then everyone will have one (or a cheap knockoff).

Guy I work with has one. He is a Apple fanboi like me. Was showing me this great device. I'm not sold on it with it's current functionality. Not a great battery life either. He was having trouble quantifying the benefits of it.

Might be some future niche that I am missing but I think the phone I have in my pocket does it all. I'd prefer a nice mechanical watch.

My housemate has one. To me, it seems very gimmicky. Will hold off and see what the mkII provides.

I quite like Apple products, bar a few things.
I use a 4Gen iPod touch for music all the time, had it for years now.

And my phone is always on me, so if I need the time, I check that. No need for a watch!

I'll stick with the Omega Seamaster, nothing beats a real time piece. The iphone does the job perfectly for me.

You can only purchase the watches online, my sister works in one the ' apple watch support teams' so she has one for showing people how it works over Skype, it has a built in pedometer, blood pressure and heart monitor. The non-medical benefits are along the lines of reading messages/ these social network notifications apple users seem to be so fond of. Can't believe there's 1 that goes for $1800+

I'm a bit of a fan of the Samsung smart watch with the inbuilt sim so you can make calls and messages without having the phone with you.

I currently don't have a watch, so I have been looking at watches (smart watches). I do have an iphone so I have looked at the apple watch, but wasn't that impressed. So I started looking at different watches fitness bands and I must admit I do like the Mircosoft band. Lot of features better battery life, just a pity it doesn't work with Siri.
