Just bought my daughter a 93 TX5 2.5 V6 and ran the first tank of fuel through it with normal around town driving.
We returned figures of about 11.8l/100km. Pretty much what I was expecting but was just wondering how others compare. |

When I had my 93 TX5 Ghia in manual I used to get about 400-450k out of a tank around town and upto 500 on the open road. Mine was always well serviced and ran on premium. They use alot more petrol than alot of people think. If you drive it hard it will suck it down in 300k's.

I was told (by the previous owner) that out of a tank, you could expect around 550 city cycle, 800 country cycle. iirc, the capacity is 58L for the 4WS model and 60L for the 2WS model. Last edited by timace; 20-12-2006 at 11:01 AM. |

Wow, 450km? The sixes must use a lot more than the fours.
I have a 4cylinder 5speed 1993 Telstar, and I get low-mid 8's/100km (mixed, maybe more highway). Hell, if you include a return run to Melbourne, I've had economy in the sevens, and I don't baby it! Typically I'll get about 600km from 50L (8.3L/100km), and I've had a few 650km tanks. I don't think i've had worse than 9L/100km.
