While checking the fluids of the EA today, I noticed that my batter had excessive amounts of battery acid that had leaked from the caps and had "caked" around the caps. Is this normal?
Ive never had this on my cars before. I checked the levels and it needed a small amount of distilled water added. The battery is charging at a normal 14.7volt. The battery is a 460CCA btw ;) and is about 1yr old

Errrr around the caps, that's not normal. They on good and tight? It forming on the terminals?

They are good and tight, Terminals are clean, No crap on them at all...
This is why i was concerned

Over-charging a tad, most likely, put a meter on it.

Im running a Mitsubishi 70amp Alternator from a EB, And ive put a meter on the battery when running and its 14.7

14.7 is alittle high, probably causing some boiling after a while..

14.7v is high? What should it be at? I allways thought it should vary between 14.2 and 14.7 is good
if its alittle high, i guess ill just drive around with the stereo cranked louder now ;)

I didn't think modern cars overcharged. Thermos sound good. Maybe one of those intake cooler thingys that some guy on Fordmods did.
