Default Shannons Wheels - 22 March 2009

I just noticed there isn't a dedicated thread up for Shannons so here we go.

Shannons Wheels 2009
22 March 2009
Lawns of Old Parliament House
Club Cars arriving at 8:00am

I know last year we did meet up elsewhere beforehand to arrange the parking order and think it would be a good idea again this year. Can I suggest we meet at 0715 at the Scrivener Dam carpark (other side of the water from the Zoo)?

We have told the organizers that we need space for 25 cars so come on put your name on the list. It is the biggest display we have in Canberra that covers all the makes and models so lets get the club name out their with a big roll-up.

We have the BBQ all fired up and ready... A TV to watch the Cilpsil so we are going to have a great day.

Talking

Hi,
I was show this website from a co-worker in the HSV club, he loves there club and talked me into joining the FPV club. So if you dont mind I will hopefully see you on Sunday. My FPV is a GT Cobra and looks Identical to my little picture on the side. Just a little moded engine, plus a supercharger.

Pete

He also showed me there forum, so this is a massive call. They have 52 cars showing up, all are HSVs (they dont except Holdens into there club), they also have 3 race cars from well know race drivers comming.

It's all in fun, a bit of tounge and cheek. Something to spice up the competition. It's harmless banter. I can't help it if they take things too seriously.

They like to do things on a grandscale. Good luck to them, I hope it's a success.

So we will all meet at 7.15am at the meet point. What time do we plan to leave from there. Spend half hour?

If anyone south wants to meet at Lanyon, I'm happy to start there. Meet at 6.45 for a 6.55 departure. It shouldn't take anymore than 20 minutes to make scrivener.

Can get Coffee at Macca's before we leave.

Buckie.. that sounds like a good plan..

I was hopeing that more club members would support this event as it is a home event..

I know some people have things on but 12 out of approx 50 member is a bit disapointing... : :

7 cars out of 12 deep on the souththside we might just have a show in the macca's car park... : :

Glenn, maybe get Richard to send out an email reminding everyone of this event with a link to this thread. Hopefully we will get a few more show up.

James hasn't been on here for a long time. I spoke to him about this at the meeting before last and I think he might have had a difference of opinion with some of the moderators.
