There’s an awesome video clip in this link. What sort of person would complain about the noise of an Enzo screaming at full tilt?
Remember….NEWS.com.au does not encourage or condone speeding. Watch and enjoy… http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599...l?from=mostpop Cheers

Mr Rana is seen driving his Lamborghini at 339km/h.
NEWS.com.au also doesnt check their facts nor watch their source videos. Mr Rana only drove ferraris in clip, first the enzo, then the turbo 360. douche bags. Its not hard to get simple facts right. |

Tracy Grimshaw says… Well, it looks like Australia isn’t the only place that has a HOON, I’ll say that word again HOOOON problem. Police in Canada and the USA have arrested 45 street racers in exotic cars and claimed that they were reaching speeds in excess of 750 km/h. :hihi:

it just annoys me that people who are trying to pass themself off as knowledgeable, clearly know nothing or dont pay enough attention.
Eg, wheels claiming the new soon to be released "Boss" engine isnt OHC, just clearly wrong, no other explanation. But now there is 30 odd post on this forum about how great a new pushrod engine is gonna be. I just hope that Lamborghini is what is in the police report and that he takes it to court. Prosecutor: "did you drive your lamborghini at 339kmph???" Mr Rana: "no... ...i drove my ferrari at 339kmph" Judge: CASE DISMISSED |

one point i'd also like to raise.
it shows the difference between the top and the bottom end of the "hoon" market. These guys take expensive exotic cars that were made to go fast, stop fast and turn well. They travel hourse for a blast, do stupid speeds, YES. but, the travelled way way way out of town on a piece of road they had checked out beforehand. Did u see any trees or people or houses close to the road? no. was the car full of their mates? no. yes they were breaking the law and those kinda speeds are ridiculous on a public road but they were the only ones likely to die if something went wrong. contrast that to the bottom end of the market, in the middle of noble park, in a maccas carpark with a load of mates in the poorly modified vn or wrx, doing stupid speeds in a built up area on roads that they dont know/dont know whats on them. how many ferraris crash as a direct result of hoon behaviour and kill anyone apart from the driver???? ask the same question for any performance commodore? |

Whilst i agree with all of the assertions in your post, I beg you to give me break mate. I have had previous conversations with you before and every time you respond to a post of mine it is to rebutt me by being superior and belittling me and my opinions and also attributing opinions to me that I do not have and further rebutting and belittling me. you are a highly valued forum member with lots of experience and knowlege which many people including I rely on. But superior attitude, sly put downs and patronising words discourage me and others greatly and disenchant and discrourage them from contributing their different and also valuable opinions to our forum. Trolling through peoples posts to put them down does not serve any positive purpose to anyone. There is far too much of it on this forum from not just yourself but others. Just because you lived in the provence doesnt make you an expert either??? There are native animals, school children, farmers and machinery pretty much everywhere in the western world in rural environments. There is nothing exclusive about those things to alberta that we wouldnt find in australia to be very similar or the same. Now, snow or ice etc would be different, but clearly these are not a factor in this case. I was not praising their actions, as they are stupid and very unsafe for all the reasons you mentioned and many more. i was saying that it was less stupid than those who do it in unsafe vehicles, in urban areas, with passengers, when they do not know the conditions of the road and its surrounds that they will be hooning in and through. Even doing highspeed runs in legal places such as airfields, private roads and purpose built race facilities are also exposed to many of the same risks from stray animals and freak occurences that you mentioned. Nowhere is completely safe and risk free, minimization of risk is all that anyone can do and the setting of lowest risk is the racetrack, with its rules regulations, facilities and more. I did this to hypothetically ask the question about higher Vs lower socioeconomic brackets approach to doing stupid things like this with the implied assertion that the higher the socioeconomic bracket, the lower the chance of "hoon" behaviour occuring or if "hooning", the risks to the driver, passengers and people/property outside the car when law breaking "hoon" behaviour is performed. The point i made was that these men were minimizing the risks they were taking, but just like harm minimization with heroin addicts, it doesnt make it a good idea or a sensible thing to do. I didnt elaborate that because i thought it was a given that everyone would think of such excessive speed in road cars without medical crews on standby and safety procedures on a proper road etc as a very risky and silly activity. I did not call for them to be let off or imply that the ramifications of any mishap or accident would be any less serious or dangerous in either scenario. These people were all alone in their cars, some did wear a helmet and racing suit. on a very quiet piece of straight and good conditioned road. The cars looked to be well maintained, in good condition, were recently new models and looked to be in roadworthy condition. They were operated by people who looked to be familiar with such vehicles and had some level of performance driving experience. The film was taken very early in the morning, not long after sunrise, so whilst there was good visability, its all the time when its likely to be less chance of animals roaming as animals are likely to be less active at this time. Their was good visability along the road so that many animals, people or other obstructions could be seen from far away and there were other vehicles and people from their video crew looking out and filming at different points along their route who also would have been able to try and warn/avert trouble if neccisary. The roads were all deserted in the footage we saw and the surrounding paddocks also provided good visability. Whether they did all these things consciously or not, they minimized the risks of doing 300kmph signifcantly. For these reasons i came to the conclusion that whilst still an illegal and anacceptable risk, it was far less of a risk than many people that the media, government and police have drawn to the public's attention recently, take. Now, judging by previous form, my post will be disected and rebutted by yourself and those alligned with your way of thinking labelling me stupid, a hypocrit and unskilled in such areas of knowledge. settle down with the personal attacks mate. i was using the commodore as an example. They are a highly popular model and affordable and accessable to those of lower socio economic standards. Just as ferrari is a very popular with the other end of the spectrum. I didnt mention every model of high end car either, so are you going to call me one eyed for only mentioning ferrari??? What about porche, pagani, mercedes, bmw, saleen, bugatti. Am i a moron because i didnt mention other brands at the high end of the scale. I did not attack commodore drivers as my brother is infact one. I merely suggested a comparison of statistics on the ammount of passenger deaths in these cars when the accidents could be attributed to excess speed. the facts are that commodores are most confiscated cars under the new hoon laws in victoria How many ferraris have been impounded??? i dare say not as many on a comparitve scale (eg, number of registered ferraris/number of registered commodores) and therefore it makes the best example of the end of the market that I was talking about. It would no doubt be similar with imports and falcons of the same vintage, BUT AGAIN, I WAS USING AN EXAMPLE. it has nothing to do with the commodore being unsafe or the majority of people that drive them. I was talking about statistics. and i did mention wrx's as well, as an example of cheap import performance cars. so read before you write, CLOWN and this is a ford forum, so i could be as biased as i want to be against fords major competitor if i wanted to. im pretty sure they dont always get well thought out, peer reviewed unbiased posts on LS1.com.au either??? i suggest that you find a tree branch, a piece of rope that is shorter than the length from the branch to the ground by 9 feet and make a nice 'neck swing.' Here’s the link to the You Tube video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrsaeUJgymo Interestingly it’s the first time that I’ve ever heard anyone pronounce the name Gallardo correctly. It’s actually pronounced Gahardo. The ll’s are silent. :hihi:

Nice, I was just watching some videos of the Cannonball run they have over in the states (the real one, not the John Candy one) - looks like fun. Might have to go over one day, though it will probably just result in me getting tazered and deported.

I believe that no ferraris have impounded due to the new hoon laws in victoria due lack of terminal speed of pursuit vehicles...
