Default Should I bother...

Well, its a comp hardware question...

About a month ago... I upgraded my comp after my Athlon 1.33GHz died.. and am now running the following system:

AMD Sempron 2200+ 1.5GHz SktA CPU
Abit NF7 SktA nForce 2 m/b
768MB PC2700 CAS 2.5 DDR DRAM
256MB ATi Radeon 9600LE AGP 8x (XpertVision)
80GB Maxtor ATA133 7200rpm HDD
WinXP Pro

Now, when I ordered the comp, I asked for PC3200 (DDR400) RAM. I had the intention to overclock the Sempron from 1500MHz (166 FSB x 9) to 1800MHz (200 FSB x 9) and leave it at that. But, when I got home, I found DDR333 RAM. Killed my o/c idea.. so now I've been thinking of one of these three 166 FSB CPUs..

Athlon XP2800+ 2.08GHz ($165)

Sempron 2800+ 2.0GHz ($165)

Athlon XP3000+ 2.17GHz ($196)

Thing is, this 2200 seems to be doing everything I ask of it.. so I'm wondering if I should bother upgrading it now... or wait a little while longer and get an Athlon64. Can't make up my mind.. so what do you guys think?

Concidering a 64bit athlon 3000+ is arround the same price as a 32bit one, i would say save up some more and go 64bit if you wish to stay with amd.

you said you ordered DDR400 RAM and instead got DDR333 RAM. im assuming that you have followed up as to why you were given something you didnt ask for? even if there is/isnt a price difference it still isnt the point.
its like going and asking for an oil change and they rotate your tyres instead.

I wouldn't bother if you're happy with the Semprons performance, the gains would most likely be very little for the money you'd be spending, better off saving your money towards an A64 setup

My opinion, take it or leave it ;)

Oh yeah, if you don't mind, could you please PM me with the details of the store you got this from, so I know to avoid dealing with them in the future and to ensure I don't send any business their way?
