Default Gaskets??

Hey I just bought a 2L mk2 escort planning on taking out the engine and gearbox to put into my 1.6L mk2 escort that is in better condition. I was just wondering if anyone knew what gaskets/seals/parts I should replace whilst the new engine is out of the car?
Thanks

Manifold gaskets, three front oil seals, rear main seal, tappet cover gasket, Sump gasket.

Obvious things like oil, oil filter, plugs, points, etc

Check condition of cam - largest journal is at rear of head, if cam is worn best to replace now rather than having to remove the head down the track to do the job.

Always a good idea to replace the cam belt while you have easy access.

Check, and I mean really check your welch plugs, particulalrly the in the back of the engine.

Yep - any sign of corrosion replace them; MUCH easier to do it out of the car...

Welsh plugs are dirt cheap, and total failure is ultra-catatrophic ($$$$$)
