as far as Aussie car enthusiasty shows go this is all we have...
and instead of comparing it to the real Top Gear....
just look at it as 'light car enthusiasty entertainment'...

Sorry I'm not buying it, I'm with DJM83 and will stick with the orginal and best, hell watching old episodes is 10 times better.

If they call it TG Australia then it should meet the same high ENTERTAINMENT standards as TGUK, by all means you can watch it, I'm not a "third times a charm" bloke.

So what are we getting? Same hosts and production crew? Or a ground-up rebuild?

Do they actually have any real comedians in this one?

They need someone that's actually funny, more than they need hosts that are motoring enthusiasts.

Now that it's with another network, I would imagine it would be set in a different studio and different floor crew. So it won't be identical to when it was on SBS. SBS is rather a primitive network in comparison with Nine, so this new season sounds promising to me.

I doubt what we'll see on camera will be too different though, thats all part of the Top Gear franchise.

Unfortunately they could never afford Eric Bana, even though he would be an awesome lead host I think we will only ever see him as a guest.

Having charismatic hosts is the first step, and having Kenny (Shane Jacobson) is a great start. Providing he can bring his hilarious antics from 'Kenny' to the small screen, it'll be a marked improvement on the dull hosts of old. And you're right, you can not compare Top Gear Australia to the original. Instead of ripping off the originals antics, they need to find a medium between copying the original and being original. Having a cast and crew that gel as well as the UK show is the key to this.

Will give it a go, hopefully the change of hosts fixes the problem with the show.
