Default Mondeo Door Scuff Plates.

Dose anybody know where to get them from, e-mailed a Ford mob in the UK for a rough idea of shipping cost but still waiting for reply.

Ordered them with my vehicle only to be told 6 months later that Ford Aus weren't getting them in! Settled for a tank of fuel which was probably worth 3 times as much so no complaints there. Ford UK or a UK based party would be you best bet. You could check if there is mention of them on the MEG website.

Release date is to be advised. When I was hunting one for the Focus XR5, I checked this site and it said the same thing. They now do one. Just give it sometime and check back at that site every few weeks.

:

I just read the PDF again and they do have them for the Mondeo. Fitment guide is TBA, not the release. Only colour is grey.

No don't look at the photo's. I think that's only a guide so you can see how it looks

In the PDF go to Page 8. This is what is in the list. Just search on Mondeo.

Model Variant Dates Fitment Information Code

MONDEO MA 10/07 TO CURRENT TBA F38

Code F38 is Ford MA Mondeo. Looking at the pic again, it seems to only be information for you so you can see how different colours and monograms look. A bit like the Wheel guide on Bob Janes web site.

So try the PDF in my link and go to page 8. Look up mondeo and you'll see it. I am about to order myself one.

With that sort of interest in supporting the brand, maybe the Ford dealers should start stocking GM products. With the global credit crisis, I'm sure GM would be willing to sell on some of last years over-production.

I will see if I can take a pic tonight. The dealer I used was John Hughes in Perth. Maybe give them a call to see where they get the mats from.

Talking Installing Mondeo Scuff Plates

HI!

I was wondering, is it easy to install the Scuff Plates, if it is something I can do myself, I would like to purchase them. Has anyone installed the scuff plates themselves before! Thanks for your help!

Scuff plates arrived yesterday, they are 50cm in length by 5cm wide, polished alloy with the Ford oval logo in the centre. They are held in place with double sided tape fitting was easy just have to centralize them on the crease just a few centimetres from your rubber door seal, once in place you loose about 10mm of width because it is tucked under the seal. You must get them in the right place first go otherwise to remove them would be impossible without bending. They look rather posh and really you dont want to scratch them. Makes you wonder why they are a mirror finish. Cost $118

I've not had any issues with my mat. The only glare I get is on a really bright sunny day, the mat does reflect onto the windscreen, so you see the mat from a certain angle. It's not really off putting and I guess I'm used to it when it happens, that it does not bother me.

Not sure if this helps.

i was actually hoping that the mat would reduce glare from that centre part of the dash which seems to reflect badly onto the screen??

are there mats readily available now??

I would maybe get a strip of carpet and lay across the dash and see whether it does what you need before outlaying any cash.

Answer to your question on availability, I got mine from the local dealer. If they are stocked at a ford dealership, I would assume any dealership will have them. Your down the south coast, so maybe Harrigans have them, or will be able to get you one.
