i have inherited my dads old 1948 grey TEA20 Fergerson tractor which i have been using to clean up my 4.5 acre block of weeds.
i have been replacing a few bits that have aged , rubber hoses, front tyres, carby kit, etc. my dad bought it brand new and it was the first one in the district (rylstone nsw area ). it was the first thing that i ever drove . i plan on giving it a paint job later on to make it look like new again. anyone else got an old tractor to play with?

yeah mate i love old Tractors and stuff, we had a Henry Furgerson (I Think it was) at a mates Hobby farm that we fixed up a bit when we were like 18, It got a working when it was run and it never gave up. It's been sitting in the shed for about 3 years now untouched, as my mate now works over east so I don't go down to the farm any more . I would love to get hold of it and strip it down and do a full resto on it.
The property just got Sub divided buy his Mother for some stupid reason , and I don't know what has become of this grate old tractor. Another mates dad is into Old Ford Trucks, One has a Big Flat head V8 in it, sounds unreal. |

when i went back home to pick it up a few months ago , every time i stoped with it on the trailer behind my ute some one would come up and say that they or their familly had had a grey fergy at sometime.
i counted 7 of them in the street/subdivision where my block is, and that was just the ones i could see from the road. for a 60 year old tractor there cant be too many that have been wrecked.

you see a few old Fergersons on 'hobbie farms' and the like.
My mate down the road still has his, it still gives him little trouble. We used to have one, though my grand father sold it and got a Fiat 411R Like you Dave, the 1st thing i ever drove was a tractor lol, We now have an old Ford 1100 tractor. A bit on the small side, but it has been super reliable, very happy with it ![]() |

We had an old David Brown. It was a 71 for memory so it wasn't that old but I loved driving it. I wanted to keep it but it was replaced a year ago by a JD6110.

Yep we have a few old tractors that my grandfather bought brand new, our collection mainly consists of Olivias, sadly we just had a clearing sale and sold 2 as we have not got the room... We also have an Olivia Header dating back from the 50's, it still runs like brand new!!

I think Larry Perkins has a huge tractor collection and restores them as his hobby.

neat old tractor steve, i did some seasonal slashing years ago for a bloke, he had half a dozen tractors they all looked pretty down looking compared to your banger and were driven on the road to sites :(, a few were oldies i think not sure of the age, ford 5000,an old fiat, old chambelan big bugger with an arm on it, an fairly old massey ferguson with a glass cab.

We've got a '59(?) Fordson Petrol Dexta over at our shack that we use to launch the boat. We got it really cheap last year and have since found out they are quite rare.

We have an old International B105 i think it is, (too cold to confirm)
It runs well, everything leaks, steering is so heavy it isnt funny, you literally have to PULL the wheel around. My grandad bought it brand new and now dad uses it every day on our farm. I cannot believe how reliable it is though, it has copped constant abuse for who knows how long, and is still going strong....

Great looking restoration on that Fordson JG66ME.
Here are a few of my toys. The Inter B414 i restored i no longer own. The Oliver Cletrac Bulldozer had a shot engine when i bought it, but has been going great with a 351w transplant. It is currently out of action due to a couple of burnt out exhaust valves. The blue inter also has a ford 250 engine. The other tractors are a M.F 135, and a 4wd Kubota. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

blitz`s (all fords of course )are something else that i grew up with on the farm, dad and my uncle were timber cutters and had blitz`s with home made cranes on the back for handling the mill logs in the bush. my mate with all the tractors now has our last blitz.

recoil, the red international tractor you have reminds me when I was growing up on the mornington peninsula on the old mans property. Used to spend hours lifting concrete and all other sort of stuff from 1 place to another, towing cars and logs, digging post holes, the list goes on. You could never kill the bastard, she would start up first go after sitting in the shed for 6 months, no joke.

My mate has a HUGE tractor collection.
He has 3 Lanz Bulldogs, about 4 D2 Cat dozers, a half track Fordson, heaps of McCormick Deering in both petrol and diesel WD40's and older. I believe some of them are worth big $$$ now, he has been collecting them for 30 years from all over Australia.

I have a Fordson Major Kero/petrol with an amazing front blade driven by the 3pl.
I also have a McCormack A554 87hp diesel - its a bit big for 11 acres, but gee its fun. I have some cool old bits and peices like a tumbling tommy, home made ripper, jib etc.... Old Tractors are a bunch of fun.

g`day turbotaxi
my old fergy originally had a 3 point linkage controled front blade as well. it was swaped for a rotory hoe before my time and i have never actualy seen one in real life. you can see part of it in this photo as the tractor hides behind a tree. [IMG] ![]()
