when i was in the USA all the phones had some loud Beep or screach sound then there was a loud voice comming out of it, like a walky talky... anyway when ur doing ur thing and there is 3 phones going off and it sounds like ur in a kids cubbyhouse with 10 others , Its enough to make u scream..firstly there is no private conversations anymore and the entire idea is very annoying for some one trying to be polite, I had enough at one stage at a mexican resturant and asked to change tables, all i could hear was someone elses conversation and this annoying scheet beep sound,, optus have started to advertise these phones ,,,im wearing earplugs and taking a steel plate and a hammer out now just in case... fruckn rude bastards what ever happened to the cone of silence

whats the story with this?
sounds weird to me. are they doing it to encourage mobile users to walk somewhere private to talk? ie walk out of the restaurant? |

There is that new technology thing, protocol if you want, called Push to talk which makes your phone like a walkie talkie, I personnally cant see what the hell the point is in it, just a plain stupid feature, if not the stupidest on modern phones in my opinion.

Not sure what you mean but my phone has Speakerphone option and I bloody love it. Really good for when you're busy but I dont use it in public, mainly because i dont want others listening in on my calls but also cos I agree that its damn rude.

its a free feature for 5 mates to talk at once, its the most nerdiest and annoying feature u can have, I bet it takes off with schoolies and geeks. I have no problem telling the person to shove their Phone up their a$$ if i see it here. got ya ears on geek. so there is 3 things i hate now, holdens, bali and push to talk

Probably could be a good idea ,they could be used instead of UHF radio's and would be ideal in club car cruise's.
Cheers John

ok call me old but what the hell ever happened to just speaking to someone in person?
mobile phones really **** me off in a big way, so much so that i let mine expire and will not buy another one. these are the sole cause of an anti-social society. is it so damn hard to go visit someone? tell them all you need to when you see them? sorry but some people have a genuine use for mobiles, but im pretty damn sure that 90% of the population dont. there was a time when the world could function without them and didnt come to a crashing holt. : |

****ing hate yuppies. Its all bout what games and ringtones you got these days. **** that a mobile phone is for texting and talking, maybe taking pictures when your wasted having fun. I hate those annoying ringtone adds. I have speaker phone on mine and only use it when my mates wanna join in the convo which isnt very often. I usually just text. I generally dont like talking on the phone just have it for organizing shit and emergencies. I do like the caller ID though so you know when not to pick up. Also knew a chick who ran up a $240 phone bill and said yay its down from last month (**** me what was it the previous month). What a waste of money. Also hate dickheads who use them while driving and chicks are the most guilty of this IMO

I remember when $30 used to last me 6 months before i met a certain chick ;) which then i started using $30 every 3 weeks and this is texts not phone calls. Anyways ****ed that chick off and im back to spending $30 once in a blue moon. Also saving money on petrol lol. A mobile on a plan is the fast way into debt so thats why i have prepaid. My bro ran up a $2000 bill and boy did my dad hit the roof.

it all comes down to the person with the phone at the end of the day...its like the argument an idiot in an excel is still an idiot ;) |

Chick+phone=BIG BILLS lol. Yeah i reckon id be responsible to but if my phone gets stolen i dont want a massive phone bill ran up either. I really dont know how people can spend so much money on phone bills. There is no way i could run up a $240 phone bill like my ex chick friend. She would basically spam me all day with texts and shit. Its good to know your loved then get screwed over lol.

im on that $49 thing with vodaphone, just makes it so much easier, dont have to worry about running out of credit, as you have $230 a month..
One of my mates is on the $79 plan where you get $500 but how the hell can you use that much...

does the $500 cap include messages? a lot of those deals, the cap is on calls, and u get charged seperately for messages...which means a lot of people will call rather than message, and thats how you come to use up more of the $500

well i just paid $190 for my last bill... and yes Steffo your a tight ***, or you have no friends =p jokes. I dont worry about my bills too much, they only come once a month, and i put away $75 a week for it, so ive always got left overs, which go onto my car.
And for all you nay-sayers out there, a 25cent text message is much easier than driving around to your mates house to see if they want to come over..

With caps do you still have to pay the monthly charges regardless or is it you pay for what you use up to the cap and then if u go over its free?
