Default what is it

ok ,

i gave it some real stick going up a big hill and wound it right out, after that it seems to tick louder on idle, and in higher revs have a tick/hissing sound?

its a 2L pinto being run on premium with a leaded substitute.

tappets? help me

More likely exhaust gasket with hissing. Check the oil level/condition. If its low or black, change it. Pintos love clean oil, (and hate dirty oil)....Keep 'em clean and they are a bulletproof engine. Neglect your servicing and they'll die a horrible death. :evil3:

yes ur right on a closer inspection today the i pin pointed it from the exhaust manifold
