my speeds are as follows:
download: 5597 kb/s upload: 400 kb/s Currently used ADSL2+ TPG. These are not 100% indicative of my actual speed because I have other mates in my house leaching the internet. I sync at 11Mbit, which is usually good for 1.01Mb/s

IIRC $80, torrents are fine, a good site gets me a 700meg AVI rip in 1.5 hours which is basically maxing out my connection. |

After dealing with many different modems at work the only ones i would recommend are the Open 625 series the Open 824RLW (which is a rebadged billion 7402 at a lower price with a shorter warranty) and the billion 740x series, and of course cisco if your wanting to spend over a grand. Billion 7300's seem okay for a cheaper modem but i would definitely stay away from the 5000 series billions. Most modems seem to run OK on 1500k.. it's only when your getting up above 5mbit where some really fall over. |
