Once again we have our annual Skid Pan Day on Sunday 3rd July 2011 we have booked the Skid Pan for the whole day so we have a morning session and an afternoon session, 10 places only available for each session. Each session consists of a brief classroom lesson and then we can hit the track. 2 cars on the track at a time, for a period of about 10 - 15 minutes then the next 2 cars have a go and so on. Rick Bates will jump in the passengers seat to instruct you in the correct way to handle your pride and joy. Once you are confident he lets you loose by yourself. In the past we all end up with about 4 periods on the track in the 4 hour session. Rick Bates supplies morning/afternoon tea, The FPV Club will supply a BBQ Lunch. The lunch will overlap both sessions. Cost will be $132.00 each. Session 1 Morning 8.30am 12.30pm 1.Big Glenn 2.Dave C 3.Dave Hansen 4.Matthew Hansen 5.Ian Guyer 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. Cheers Chris. Been doing a fair bit of travelling last few months, and I'm hoping that will drop off soon. Was hoping to get to the meeting this week but will be away again. Hopefully next time

Dave, I reckon I should be on commission
Actually, I thought it would be useful for people who may be considering going down a similar path to know who some of the suppliers or manufacturers might be. It takes a bit of research to find this stuff out so happy to share the knowledge, answer questions etc

Ok ... Its getting closer and we need to fill this event as I have committed to both sessions for the day.
Rick Bates has a couple of guys with HSVs that are interested if we need places filled. So lets open this event up to non members as well as members of our Club to fill it up. 1 spot available in the morning session 5 spots available in the afternoon session. Cheers Glenn

Hi, I might be in Canberra for the weekend. Would love to come down and spectate. If there are spare spots on the day for non-members I might take one of those too. Cheers

I might have two people lined up to come along to fill the numbers. One is a blueprint XR8 the other is an SS commodore, if you guys are okay with having a rival there let me know, he is keen.... I'll make sure he picks up all the pieces that fall off his car after his session.

Anyone know of a way to stop the handbrake from dis-engaugeing in a BA when you pull it on while driving? It would be extremely handy for the weekend's activity...

You won't need the handbrake at all.

Wouldn't recommend the carbra. The dirt in the water gets absolutely everywhere! You'll be finding little patches of black dirt throughout your car for months afterwards!
Quote:
Well, when I was last there in my R33 I needed the handbrake, but to slow down, not get sideways! By using the handbrake to slow you down while drifting, you can maintain your slide throughout the entire circuit... Anyway, looking forward to this!
