harrismike569@yahoo.com
hello is your ad on gumtree still for sale kindly get back to me on my personal email domenicm594@yahoo.com.au with your willimg price
now the ad has only been on gumtree for about 12 hours
with a very long description and price and mobile number
why would they text and not ring and the spelling is in computer shorthand
I have not answered at all I was thinking they are after my email address

Definite scam. Don't know the details of how they do it, but all they want is the email address that is linked with your paypal.
Just steer clear from it and report it to the website you're advertising on.

A real person would call you and set up a meeting to see the car and talk face to face...

Scam. We have those all the time here in NZ. There are warnings on the trading websites here about them.
They txt first, because if they send an email first, their IP address can be traced.

A very good thread to read in regards to this scam and what they're trying to achieve:

+1 for it being a scam .....as others have stated if it was a genuine buyer they would ring.

Personally, the only way I will very sell a car on eBay is cash only or cleared funds before pick up and you get the cash in your hands....I've done it before. It's the only way the ensure you don't end up being butt pluged.

A couple of years ago, I sold my Pajero that way on EBay (they did not like me saying that I will not even accept paypal) so l had to modify my ad to read cleared cash sale only ....I was lucky to find the purchaser totally understood where we were coming from and was happy to wait a few days for the bank transfer and them me getting the money out.

Go to www.photobucket.com and create an account - it is free and easy.

You can then upload your photos into an album there.
Photobucket will assign a link to each of your photos.
These links can then be used here.

When posting here, click on the little yellow "insert ímage" icon above the message box.
Copy the link of the photo into the URL window.
Done.

I use servimg.com
Just another option. Photobucket may be more user-friendly?
