Last night at 11:41pm, I was on my balcony in Carlingford looking over the Sydney basin, where I saw the cloud cover above me turn bright green for about one second. Then within 3 seconds it did it again, followed by two large "boom" noises (sonic booms). Anyone else hear and or see it?

wrong state sadly, mmm interesting though, dunno if its true or not , but i read somewhere recently that we may be moving into an area of space in the next few years that may give rise to a bit more comet action, could be bs though .
did you see it hit the ground ? i wonder if it was a bit of space junk falling back to earth? i saw one on a clear night come out of the sky years ago as i was heading south a few k`s outa horsham/vic in the truck, watched a comet with a fiery tail land somewhere in the distance off to my left, hard to judge the distance , it could have been 2 k`s or 20, very exciting stuff. |

Didn't see it coming, didn't see it hit. The cloud base was around 3000 feet and it was fully overcast, I only saw all the cloud go bright green twice within a couple of seconds and then the two loud boom noises. Car alarms went off and dogs started barking. I dare say that the noises would have been the percussive sound waves of the meteors going so fast, as I have heard nothing about any kind of damage.

I remember seeing a similar incident on freeway one night a few years back. Got online to do a search and found a site that has a section to report any sightings.
I was the first to report what I saw (that night) and in the morning I noticed a few more people had seen the same meteor. Mine was pretty big too, amazing to observe when the sky is pitch black and clear.

Never been lucky enough to see one, but I did see a video in Russia where all these office workers were waiting for a meteor shower. All they got was a shower of glass in the face as the meteor smashed the sound-barrier as it past their building.
