About $500 of vouchers for bunnings from family members.
I tried dropping the hint about autobarm/superchep vouchers around October but the minister for finance kindly told me to forget about it.

I was allowed to buy stuff for the cars bit by bit over the last month that added up to more tthan that anyway so I sorta came out alright in the end.

I also need a decent cordless.
Got two 18s and they are pretty gutless.

Mrs b2tf and I bought ourselves a woodfired pizza oven for the outdoor area, been after one for ages. Tried it out last night and it was sensational, can see it getting a lot of use.

I also splurged out yesterday and bought us a lounge suite so I guess thats our Christmas present too. Bought me some brownie points which should help minimise the flack I'll get when I buy more parts for the GT.

MY 14.5 Outlander Aspire diesel.

I know - I did look at the Koreans but this was the better all round package to be honest.

* Needed 7 seats, and the Outlander had the better windows for the 3rd row - the Santa Fe (especially) and the Sorento seemed to be both designed as 5 seaters and the 3rd row was an afterthought.
* Outlander has less high strung engine - the other 2 are roughly the same capacity and it's great they they produce huge power and torque but they are also much thirstier.
* The Outlander is roughly 300kg lighter, yet has the same towing capacity as the other 2 (would have thought with all the extra power and weight the Santa Fe / Sorento could have gone to 2.5t braked towing capacity).
* Cheapest of the top spec models ($49k RRP vs - Santa Fe Highlander $59k and the Sorento Platinum for $53k drive away).
* 8cm narrower than the Koreans - meaning the better half is a little more comfortable driving it (she hates 'big cars').

Gadgets are a much of a muchness between the 3. Outlander has low speed crash avoidance and adaptive cruise control (I don't think either of the Koreans have this?). The Highlander has a few extra bells and whistles but you need a whole heap of extra moolah.

I think the Outlander has the better ground clearance of the 3 and a more driver selectable 4x4 system.

They also gave me a great deal - actually, I bargained very hard and got myself a great deal .

Now to actually sit in it and learn all the gizmos and gadgets - the owners manual looks to be 300+ pages, then another book of around 100 pages for just the radio!

He did get a load of Harley gear for his bike, so I guess we are even.

Cheers
