Hey guys,
I have got the bug to build something again, so I've decided to try and get my EF into the 13's n/a. I've got 190rwhp with the current setup, but don't know what sort of time it'd run due to the lack of a strip where I live. I'd estimate a high 14 to low 15 maybe. I'm going to get it down the 1/8th soon, but they don't have proper timing only ET. So far I know that I'll be using an EF block with my ported EF head. What other sort of mods would help pull a 13? So far the plan is: EF Block/Crank Fully balanced .040" ACL Race Series pistons Ported EF head (still has standard valves, but will be looking at going to oversized items) 1521a Cam (open to suggestions here, may need something bigger!) Vernier Gear Pacie Extractors (Already have 4499's would going to 4480's be benificial?) 2.5in Exhaust XR6 ECU and chip CAI 5 Speed 3.9 LSD (Maybe even 4.11's, but traction is going to be a serious issue.) Bigger injectors???? I think I'll have to look at softening up the rear end as well, traction is non existant as it is. I think this is possible seeing STOKEB and the Mocks are running mid to low 13's n/a although in lighter cars than an EF, but I'd be satisfied with a 13.9. Any suggestions or advice would be a great help. Damn having to sell my turbo gear! lol :P Daniel

I'd say the above combination will see mid to high 13's easy.
Rick.

Got some secrets up ya sleeve hey FPVWEPN? Tell me damn you! :P
I should be able to do this on a fairly resonable budget considering I already have a fair bit of stuff already on the car. I'll be able to build the bottom end for about $800, then all the little stuff that goes with a rebuild (new lifters, timing kit, water pump etc) will bring it up to about $1G. I don't know whether to stick with the 4499's or upgrade to 4480's. Upgrading will be another large wad of cash out of my pocket. A budget of about $2500 should just about pull it up hopefully.

I got a 14.21 out of my dev4 fairmont with street tyres when it had 160rwkw (1630kg including driver).
Anything over 170rwkw and less than 1650kg (provided it still has some decent torque down low) should be possible to get into the 13s.

190 rwhp is good for a mid 14 with a ef, If you no your car you should run good times.
