Dont go the manual for the 8 unless you have a manual ECU, esp if you're not mech minded. It can be a headache if you're not electronically minded too, a major headache.

LOL ARE U KIDDING ME 750 for a AUTO BOX? dont even thing about it! there have been a few people on here saying they have them, send them a pm and grab it, should only be 300-400 TOPS u can get T5 MANUAL boxes with full conversion gear for 900! whats the point spending 750 on a auto wen u can go manual?

I paid $350 for a perfect shifting EL XR8 auto that had done 120,000km roughly. $750 is way too much IMO.
V8 and I6 automatics and manuals are not interchange-able, you need to get a V8 box, whatever you decide to get. V8 T5 manuals are much harder to find than a 6cyl one, and they often go for $1000+. If you end up getting the gearbox rebuilt, theres several places that will rebuild the box to take 600bhp for around $2500, which might seem a lot, but isn't much more than what a standard rebuild costs.
