Smile Found & Purchased My T3 TS50!!

.

Well, I was looking, found and purchased my 2002 T3 TS50, all within a week of starting the search. I did some searches on a NZ Ford board, sent some PMs/emails and found a guy who wasn't ready to sell just yet. I made an offer to take the car off his hands and he accepted! Yehaaaaaaaw!! :Reverend:

It's 1 of 7 manuals in New Zealand. Liquid Silver, charcoal/black interior, 5-speed with 36,000kms on the clock. To say I'm over the moon is an understatement. It has some minor mods and is pushing around 225kws at the rear wheels (dyno sheets came with the car). The engine cover was signed last year by Wincup, Bell and Lowndes. It's exhaust isn't stock and man, what a sound, honestly like a V8 super car.....the back fire and rumbles down changing made stains in my pants (not from pee or poo). : The car is as straight as can be, perfect, like new, I can't spot one fault apart from a few little scratches on the front of the engine cover and that's it, honestly!

Anyhow, tonight's it's first night up the drive. I'm going to have a look to see what the build number is and I'll post it up here and if it's not registered on the Aussie site I'll register it.....I'll be getting up around 5:30am tomorrow and going for a good 3-4 hour blat up country!

The taillights are now stock, the photos show the previous owners altezza style lights, I asked for the originals to be put back on, much better IMO.
Photos are from the previous owner, nothing scenic but better than nothing.

:eclipsee_

Cheers,
Carl

Thanks guys! No plans, I'm happy with the performance as-is for now.
I'll probably look at non performance engine mods.

List I have is what I'll be looking at when money is right:

# Herrod Sure-Shifter
# Pedal Covers
# Momo Gear Knob
# WRC style bulge bonnet
# 35% Tints

That's about it, just minor(ish) mods to make it my own.

Thanks,
Carl

Am I the only one that read this bit? Mate, I hope you reconsider, even a BA bonnet buldge would be pushing it.

The T3 is just about the only Ford that doesn't need to be touch style wise from factory. Its unique enough to stand out without being to in your face.

Congrats, its choice bro!

Thanks but that's your opinion on it's style, I think it will look good and help lift the slightly "pointed/narrow" front end. I have seen one or two on the T-Series and it looks awesome.

LOL!!!!! "It's unique enough without being too in your face" : Mate! have you seen the wing, body kit and heard the engine!?!?!?!?....this car stands out like a dogs balls, so a bulge bonnet isn't going to change a single thing! Besides, it's a very subtle hood and IMO will flow nicely.

Thanks,
Carl

Having a look at the car I think I will leave it as is.
Maybe in the future I'll have a look but I do agree with you, it is a factory sex machine. :

Thanks mate, very bottom of the North Island - Wellington.

5speedeb - I'm not one to talk money but I feel it was a good score. I'd say it was a little over market value but I paid a little extra $5K to actually make him want to sell. Market value figures wouldn't have moved the car. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and ask yourself....when will there be another chance? That and, ahwell...ya live once. lol

IN RESPONSE TO BLUEDRIVER

Thanks mate, they sure are beautiful to drive.....doesn't take much to slip the clutch and make some noise. lol After driving performance automatics for 4-5 years it's a nice change (not that I don't like autos, performance ones anyhow).

Now you mention it the previous owner did say something about changing the springs. He use to drive the car around Pukekohe (NZ V8 super car round) and stuff. Best time down the 1/4 mile for this car is a 13.86 at 107mph and he said it was spinning until midway through 2nd....

Still pinching myself. lol

Cheers,
Carl

Yupe, you're not wrong. The driver said he reckons a low 13 second pass is very achievable, traction and some practise on the clutch work will get the times down. Plus a good track and temp and possibly some slicks.

Yeah, I honestly paid about $5K over what I think and have seen the market value as so it's not much to pay considering the build numbers, which reminds me.

My cars build number is: 051

Cheers,
Carl

Your poor thing, anything with the number 51 and from NZ is bad news lol.

Thats an awesome set of cars you got there. T3's are one of the best looking Falcons IMO pure muscle.

Thanks, I originally wanted the ESS automatic model for straight-line speed and cruise but thought that this is too much of a drivers car to be spoiled by the lack of driver control, hence the manual. A decision that in the end was an easy one and one I'm glad I made.

Momo - I'm not sure, I'll have another look but couldn't see the logo? I'm after the round/ball shifter style.

The Black and Grey knobs that have momo stamped on them. But if you want to change it I will take the black and grey one off your hands!

Sweet car mate. Silver is one of my three fav colours on these (white & monsoon the other 2) & it being a manual TS50 :sm_drool:

You won't need a momo g/knob as they come standard in them with the steering wheel.
