One of Australia's true greats with a huge 40 year career.
Was reinvigorating his career and exploring new music (Moroccan) and ways of challenging himself. RIP Thorpey. You'll be missed by your many fans... |

RIP Billy Thorpe. A colossus of Australian music, he paved the way for all to follow. An absolute character. Never got to see him live, never got off my **** to go and regretting it now. I have a DVD of his reunion gig with the Sunbury Aztecs at the Boggo Rd Jail in Brisbane dating from 1994 and it just blew me away. Read his books, they are a hoot!! An absolute must read!!
Condolances to his family and friends. A fitting tribute would be to put some Aztecs in the cd player, crank it to 11, crack a tinny and enjoy!!
