I believe your looking at around 2k+ depending on colour also depends on the labour if your going to prep it and if your going to buy the paint stuff like that??

Sunnys cars is envi Daniel. : There is a blueprint EA in the summernats thread that John made, it looks nice.

Full respray including door jams and boot etc you would be looking at 4 k + for a pro to do a good job on it, anything under that and they would be taking shortcuts i reckon.

How much is all the time that youve put into your car worth tho Pat, you know that youve done it all correctly and to a high standard. Where as the paint shops may do a half *** job on both the clean/sand back and also the paint work.

As ppl say, thats my 5cents worth

Postman pat, damn it takes 3 reviews of your post to work out what you say when im tired :P

Curious, how did your paint come out? Were you able to bake the paint like a shop or did you just air dry. Im just curious as I know painting stuff at home, nothing ever comes out the same as the rest of the car (and I should know :P look at me 23 shades of blue mist)

spot on. A lot of places don't do full resprays because it's such a big job and isn't worth their time. Painting a full car in and out is a pain in the ***. If you can find a place that will do it, $4000 is about the going rate for a decent job. Anything less than $3000 and they'll be short-cutting all over the place such as spraying straight over handles, not priming certain parts etc. It'll look good when you drive it out of the panel shop then after a few months bits will start flaking off and paint will chip easily.

it'd cost you $600 in just 2 pac base coat and clear coat paints for a decent finish.

Yup.. they dont do a show quality job but whos complaining when you pay $599. i had my exterior painted in 2pac tiga mica, plus handles, front and rear bar, side moulds and side mirrors aswell, which was obviously extra. So far the only problem i have had with them was they didnt fix the holes in the roof properly, but other than that im happy with it. I got the door jams and boot done after coz they wanted 750. The paint hasnt flakedoff anywhere yet, and i do have some pics of when it was being painted..

i just went to euro paint in bayswater, after nearly killing myself on the front step, got a quote to respray my bonnet and 2 front guards.
They quoted me $950. heres the run down
paint- $450
dents RH guard- $30
chips, and scratches, $50
Oxidised paint bonnet- $150
retape badges - $30
parts remove and refit (bonnet only) -$120
mettalic paint red (its actually rosewood thank you) $120
is this a good price, to have professionally done, because i can get materials for $130
and have bloke charge me $50 in labour, he's a panel beater by trade, but using acrylic paint, where europaint use 2-pack

I dont recommend going acryllic, it just looks plain and weird if the rest of the car isnt acryllic, and it does stand out. I reckon get a new guard if need be and get them to just spray the whole car over in the same color. If you got that quote from one of the spray painters, i recon talk to the manager (roy i think) he is pretty negotiable on price.

i spoke to shane, i mentioned u tiga_el, and he remembered your car. found out i was from the club aswell, so hes taking a note of where cars come from.
well back to topic, was my car originally 2-pack in the factory, or what are they sprayed in?? because acrylic rosewood mettalic is $50. so how much would 2 pack set me back a litre?

I suppose they've got nothing to loose so doesn't matter to them either way.. In a sense i was expecting to be quoted a ridiculous price (and 10K is definitely is) because its a place thats known to repair/paint top end european cars. He quoted $1600 to just remove and refit the door handles and bumpers lol....
