Is Peter Helliar bigger then Rove?

Well if u didnt see it 2day Strauchnie done the introducition to the brownlow medal and boy was it funny I laughed pretty well.

Now Peter Helliar has a bigger role in ROVE LIVE now then ever before with the depature of Corine Grant its Pete's chance to sweep the whole show.

His role as the main host on BEFORE THE GAME has really brought up his carrer and he was also on Real Stories. Now rove is interviewing him this week on his show.

So what do you think even though he doesnt have his own show like ROVE does he pretty much runs BEFORE THE GAME its pretty much a Sam Newman role.

But no, he is not bigger than Rove in entertainment. Rove hosts his own show; Rove Live and runs Roving Enterprises, which is responsible for Rove Live, Real Stories, Before the Game as well as Skithouse (or was it the Sketch Show?)

Rove is a businessman and TV personality...Peter Helliar is just a man with a fairly energetic personality who appeals to people with his light-hearted banter.

Personally I don't find Rove funny at all. Peter is quite funny though. Wouldn't be sad to see the show canned however.

You dont win a bunch of Logies for not being a significant member of the Australian Comedy/Entertainment business. I think ROve still has another few years in him to keep the show going, and i doubt he will just fade away. But i do agree things need to improve as some weeks its old material. Peter is equally funny compared to Rove in each of there own ways.

Dont think you can find a better team on TV.

I beg to differ.

Rove's offerings are little more than tried and tested routines from 30 years of American late night television. And poor attempts, might I add. The times ive been unfortunate enough to watch the show in its entirety, ive not seen a single original idea. Leno/Obrien/Letterman currently do nightly shows which are ten times better than Channel 10's weekly charade. And even then.... Leno/Obrien/Letterman are pretty boring to watch as it is.

Rove's only saving grace is that he has the only TV show of its kind in Australia. Therefore, any international celebrity appears on his show as a matter of default. Its not suprising he walks away with the logies.

Rove's entire "success" is based on the premise of default.

Dont think you can find a better team on TV.

The lack of any alternative does not make the team "good".

Nonsense - they play all of the good old 80's/90's non-PC comedy on cable... you dont see it on FTA because it doesnt rate!!!

Any given eposide of the Chaser is more "offensive" than an entire series of the D gen.

Please provide case citations if you're going to blame "retarded judges", as im unaware of the precedent which you are claiming is responsible for the change in Australian TV comedy.
