Default Has anyone sold numberplates before

I have the reallocation rights to a set of 6 digit SA number plates. They are currently inuse on my vehicle, however i know im not going to get the plates again next year (October i think they are up) and have also noticed some of the prices number plates seem to go for.

Has anyone gone about selling number plates? I see that transport SA has a $22 reallocation fee for transfering the plate to another vehicle but this would be covered by the purchaser, what im asking is, how difficult were they to shift?? The plates in question are

[4 LITRE]
white writing on a red background

Also what would i start asking for them?? Prices seem to vary dramaticaly!!

Cheers

What, you have to renew them every year? That sucks!

Yeah being custom plates (having a number before letters) it has to be renewed at a cost of $190/yr. If i had

[LITRE 4] it would be a once off $170 payment.

In NSW the fee is $400 a year for custom plates, so $190 isn't too bad.

Isn't that just for the coloured custom plates? I have the standard black on white slimline custom plates, and when I renewed mine last month (the day before my birthday :( ) it was still only $400.

If you had them a while ago (a couple of years) then there yours as you owned them, which is the most annoying thing, as any plate customised in NSW now costs $400min im pretty sure...

Always found that stupid

4 LITRE = $190 PER YEAR, EVERY YEAR (10 YEARS =$1,900)

LITRE 4 = $170 ONCE OFF - (10 YEARS = $170)

Price of plates is governed by buyer demand. Finding someone that wants them is the hard part. Some of the prices are a joke.
Try $500 or so, maybe even start higher but it depends on how long you want to advertise them.
The EBAY plate is now down to $9,000 in the trading post.

I ordered a set of plates the other day, I havn't even got them yet and i'm already thinking about selling them, i'm just gonna advertise them for $1k+ or something and see what happens :P it's not like I got them to sell them, if they don't sell then i'll just keep em.
