Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone has pondered this.... Maybe its just me because I wear glasses *(IE: perceived as a nerd)*... BUT... I think that the fuel discount will drop very soon from Safeway/Coles, back to 2c (which I think was what it was when it came out)... And here is my reasoning... When fuel was $1.50 a litre, you could get 4c per litre off your fuel bill... So say I put in $50 of fuel (33.33litres) you would receive a $1,33 discount (around 2.5%) off the price... Now fuel can be bought at 99c per litre, I put in $50 and get 50.50litres of fuel, which now gives me $2.02 discount (around 4.1%) off the price.... Now - I accept that we're only talking 70c here, to you and I.... but are there any other businesses out there that discount you MORE when the price of the product goes down? I would think not..... : And I would think that in this global economic time - blah blah blah - that the bigwigs at these 2 companies will be thinking of making some money somewhere.... Just an interesting fact that I thought I would bring to light... I'm interested to hear anyones thoughts on this.... Loftie
