Default Smell of gas in the cabin on AUIII?

Since getting my car serviced at Ultra Tune last Friday, the inside of my car has a strong smell of gas. Not petrol, but gas. It was just a standard service for an AUIII, the brake discs needed machining but apart from that no other work was done. They may have checked the exhaust as I did complain of it rattling somewhat but no probs with it (except needing a new muffler at some point but not yet) and they did see that my water pump for the radiator needs replacing, but yeah, both things weren't carried out.

Any idea what could have caused this? Could it just be coincidence? What causes a strong gas smell throughout the car?

Thanks for info provided.
