Don't get me wrong when I say this, but the Police might have had to wait till he was out of the car and on the way to hospital to ring.
Not really warranted to be mad at them, it would have been just as upsetting and scary for them at the scene I can assure you.

Maybe they could ask the Police what the procedure is, just so they have it settled in their own mind. Sounds like a silly thing I guess but sometimes people get peeved and then blow things up out of proportion and it might have been settled if they just speak to whoever is in charge and get clarification.

The awesome thing is, he is ok and on the road to recovery, thank goodness.
