Need a new PC monitor

I'm currently looking at getting a replacement monitor as my shitty 15" is well past its used by date and also starting to die.

I'm after at least a 17" or bigger monitor, with around $300-$500 as the budget. I'm not fussed whether its lcd or cathode ?(the other one). It will once my graphics card gets updated, be used for gaming as well.

I was recommended this one but I'm still looking around.

Has anyone got any suggestions ?
