Default Was it a bargain?

Picked up a '92 EB2 GLi sedan today, 163k on the clock*, 6 months rego, 1 owner from new, and in really good shape. There's a couple of stonechips on the front, and a patch of rust on the underside of the boot lid, body is otherwise unmarked and all the paint's in good nick.

Motor sounds great, doesn't smoke or drop oil, 4spd tbar transmission seems healthy (I know nothing about auto boxes though), interior is pretty much new having had seat covers from day one. Twenty two hundred was the price.

*The odo has stopped. Last pink slip showed 155k in June '04, so I believed the old guy when he said it's only recently stopped. Speedo still works though - what could be wrong with the odo? Is it electronically driven or cable operated?

One other thing, the lights on the gearshift indicator have failed (assuming there were some?) - I guess it's strightforward enough to replace the bulbs?

Cheers,
Alex
