Since everyone knows this (most anyway) you don't get the frustrated idiots weaving in and out of lanes trying to get past. Yes cameras can be used for revenue raising elsewhere, but they actually make tunnels safer imo.

There is only one speed camera in the Lane Cove tunnel and it's near the entrance on the North Rocks side (pretty sure it was that side, i don't travel it much). You can see the strips in the road.

All other camera's are just traffic cameras.

Tunnels need a camera, but not that freakin many of them. People will be too focused on the speedo then watching the road - thus causing more accidents then if people were doing 90 in the tunnel, just wait for the figures after it's open for a year
