Default GT or not GT, that is the question (yet another hypothetical)

The origin of the name GT with regard to motor vehicles dates back to the 1920s and LeMans.

After winning the right to disallow of use of Champaign, Burgandy etc. as a name on wine that was not actually produced in the appropriate French provinces there has been another attack by our EU buddies.

The name GT and derivatives have been found to be a "traditional Trade Mark" of LeMans and as such can no longer be used on motor vehicles that have not raced there.

Australia has signed a treaty with EU and therefore must comply with the ruling.

This basically means that there can be no more FPV GTs (or HSV GTSs) unless FPV actually race a FPV GT at LeMans.

So what to do?

Setting up a race program for LeMans will cost $100,000,000 as they require a 10 year commitment which will hurt FPV severely and require the price of GTs to be increased by $30,000 to cover it.

Declaring war on France is a problem as when we send the Broken Hill Army Reserve platoon armed with a shanghai and a big stick over and defeat them over a weekend we will then be responsible for running the country (although we could send over a caretaker government made up of 3 independents and a green).

FPV are considering renaming their V8 product line but although they have had a tiny bit of push back from "certain minority groups" have asked me to run a poll in the nexus of all blue ovality....AFF
