A MOTORIST who took the law into his own hands to end a police pursuit through Perth's southern suburbs is likely to be charged with dangerous driving.
His unsolicited involvement ended with a 20-year-old female motorcyclist being taken to hospital with a broken leg.

A police spokeswoman said officers from the dog squad were trying to stop the unregistered motorcycle rider in Wellard at about 4.30pm yesterday.

The 48-year-old Harrisdale man was travelling ahead of the motorbike on Lambeth Circle and saw the pursuit.

He allegedly tried to slow down in attempt to stop the motorbike, but police and the rider passed his car near a roundabout.

“After he was overtaken, he exited the roundabout and went onto the other side of the road and followed the police and the bike,” the police spokeswoman said.

“He’s then accelerated past the police car and the bike, braked heavily, and steered into the path of the bike.”

The 20-year-old rider was flung from her bike when it smashed into the back of the car and suffered a fractured leg.

She was taken to Fremantle Hospital for treatment.

The driver of car was questioned by police and is expected to be charged with dangerous driving.
