Default Smokin engine bay

Hi,

Recently i replaced my head gasket and flushed the cooling system out. My dash temp guage remains in the colder range and never goes up past half way even after hours of driving.

My problem is that after driving for more than 1/2 hr, i have recently noticed that when i open my bonnet the bay is EXTREEMELY hot!! It never used to be, even when i touch the oil filler cap it almost burns off my hand!! Something must be wrong here.

The only thing i can think of is that somewhere there is a blockage in the cooling system and it is overheating the engine and not showing up on the temp guage. Is there any other sensors temp or otherwise that could indicate there is a problem? My extractors are also not heat wrapped but should not be transferring heat to my rocker cover, right?

Cheers,

Phil.
