Remember the big public outcry and the subsequent push to not buy clothes that were made in chinese "sweat-shops"? Remember how moraly wrong it was for big name fashion designers who "exploited" the 50cents per hour wages of 11 year old Asian kids? Well now every industry uses the "sweat-shops".

It does not matter weather we are talking about the clothing industry, the automotive industry, the fruit & veg industry, manufacturing, jewellery, furniture, hardware or toy industry, every industry will make more profit if its labour force is centralised in a low paid wage country.

We are thankful that we are not a third world country, and thankful for our very high living standards. It is our "wealth" that makes us un-competitive with 3rd world wages. We will never be able to ensure a cheap labour supply compared to China or India. In this profit/shareholder driven world, this is our future......unfortunatly. The sad reality is what would be left of these poor nations if they were unable to have the ability of manufacturing? What would be left of them?
