Default Someone explain something to me?

it has just occured to me, something might be a little weird about my car. Now i understand that the series II EF's came in late 1995 (october onwards) and the fairmont models were given the tickford (xr6) engines in the model run, but something doesnt seem to add up with mine.

Its built in 1996, but its missing the tickford engine that should be in place? its surposed to be a series II so shouldnt it have the passengers air bag too?

Only occured to me today after replacing the radiator this weekend.
