Identifying a ED XR6

Were are the tickford stamps meant to be it has them on the engine (block and head but no were else....?

on the head...at the front

its big so you can miss it..and if you do :

Yeah I checked there but (it has it there) but shouldn't it have XR springs shocks, tickford stamped on the VIN plate etc?

other places to check: interior, badges, break booster (bigger), quad lights (if ED), lower then usual, rocker cover

It all seems to be in order but I just have a funny feeling about it....

It has quad lights rocker cover stamped, block stamped, havn't checked the break booster, the front springs have been cut, the spare is a stockie, the interoir seems to be XR but the dash dosn't have a tickford simble (cluster) on it, and the steering wheel looks like a standerd S pack one....

steering wheel was an option im prity sure....as for the dash i havent noticed any eb/ed xrs with the ticky badge in there....mabye option or an aftermarket modification, what year is on the plates

yeh mate my cluster didnt have tickford wings. you're really only paying for that wonderful donk. the tickford suspension in mine was pox after 10 years on the road. just make sure its a mid series cluster which is the one with the speedo and tacho the same size.

Yeah it must be all good then there asking more then what I can afford because it has a GT body kit with the GT/XR front bar....

First and last place to check if any E-Series car is an XR6.

get the vin number and ring ford
They will tell what it is, or isn't.
Everything below the head gasket is standard falcon.
Tickford casting on rocker cover and head (as mentioned).
Red dot on the fuel reg (6 cyl).
Sheel seats are important.
Momo wheel was optional.
Red striping.
I've never seen an ED XR with a stock spare wheel.
yes oil, water, volts, fuel and the larger tach and speedo dash.
No ED had a tickford symbol on the cluster.
ABS standard.
twin muffler system (6 and 8s)
Front and rear spoilers.
and so on and so on.

probably becuase most get modded and thats the first thing to go.

also my XR6 didnt have a front lip or bodykit at all. only the boot lip spoiler. however my front bar could have been trashed long before i got it.
