I didnt think this sort of thing would happen anymore but obviously it still does. On my way to the train station I was comming up to a large bridge to notice three people standing up on top. Two guys and one girl couldn't figure what they where doing until I got closer and noticed them chucking something up in the air.. big rocks! Luckly I saw them early and got on the gas and got through in time.
There was a fair few cars in front of me at the time about 5 all tail gating each other so im wondering if they where so lucky as to not get hit. Luckly I was driving a fair bit behind them and got the chance to speed up. The highway is rather new only 1 lane each way and isnt connected to the main bruce highway yet. Unluckly we moved houses out there which im not to happy about. Got in contact with the police they said they would send a car out hopefully they will at least even better if they catch them. Just so annoying your spending all the money on a nice car get insurance only to have some idiot throw rocks. Then you have to pay your insurnace premium while they head down the park to get stoned and do it all again. I was lucky not to get hit but come on why does this thing still happen you would think even those bogans would know how stupid it is!! Has anyone else been unfortunate enough to have this happen to them? |

I had some punk kids throw some rocks off the Station Street overpass on the Western Highway at Melton last year, great fun when you drive a B-Double tanker. A lot of us (truck drivers) have been a bit edgy since those losers in Campbelltown thew a sixteen kilogram piece of concrete of an overpass on the M5 killing a truck driver by the name of Mark Evans. They later named the overpass in his memory.
Cheers, Danny

I've heard of this happening on the Deagon Deviation, from overpasses on the M1, and on the Busways. It seems to be mostly kids/teenagers, who mustn't realize the possible effect of what they are doing. Stupid people, I pray they get a brain, before they kill someone!

It's unfortunate that idiot's like these don't realise the severity of their actions. Not only the fact that they can cause a major accident causing death but also broken bones and paralysis, mental trauma. The list can go on and on...

Yeah it happened also today in melbourne. Some kids on the Hoppers crossing overpass on the princes Highway in Laverton threw rocks at a Train and hurt a lady when the rock hit the window and smashed in her face.
I'm always on the freeway and ofeten look far far into the distance. If theres anyone on the overpass, then i'm very edgy and cautious going underneath it. Its a bit like being careful going through a green light at midnight... |

Thats bloody shocking. If I had one wish it would be to catch some lowlife throwing a rock off an overpass and getting 5 minutes alone with them before the cops arrived.

bored and uneducated shits will be shits, slap their parents for letting them go of the rails, i know all kids do stupid things but if only the kids were taught the value of life, sure let them blow up a letter box or something , but to put someones life at risk is another thing. some times i feel like going to the skate park with a jack hammer and ripping it up after seing what some of them do to the hood, then again if i did that i would be a dumb as them just older.

Give kids less "rights" and give parents more powers and rights. It was said in another thread this week, "This positive renforcement crap is to blame" Bring back the days of cops bending a kid over and giving them a size 10 up the bum.

Yeah there was another incident in our local paper this week, some guy went under a rail bridge at the bottom of the Mountains. Now, this wasn't a car/pedestrian bridge, this was train tracks only. And thankfully didn't get seriously hurt, but very shaken. Morons.
Hey listen, you can't always blame parents, some of us try really hard but if a kid's going to disobey you and do whatever the hell they like, then what can you do?! There's not enough punishments you can threaten them with anymore... Cops have their hands tied, parents do too (no such thing as a sound thrashing anymore or DOCS get involved).

I have had this happen to me in my old AU! Drove under a railway overpass here in Dubbo and copped a nice sized piece of track ballast. It hit the bonnet and left a nice 2cm deep gouge then bounced up and put a huge crack in the windscreen! I am just thankful it hit the bonnet first, if the windscreen copped the full impact it would have shattered and the rock would have taken out my gf and our puppy that she was nursing at the time!

I hate stupid people like that. Are these the same people that set fire to kittens and torture dogs? Just about the same IQ needed for the lot of it i reckon. I HATE driving under bridges/overpasses if i can see someone on top and always try to change lanes so i atleast dont go directly under them.

Im sure we have all done dumb things though before but endangering someone is completely different. The only problem is once they learn their lesson (hopefully the do) there is always someone to quickly replace them. |

i think these ppl r so stupid they prollly smash their own windows first then move to a bridge or wateva. i thought they put those sorta fences up everywhere. i live in ACT so not as much a prob here but we have plently of busy roads that could b at risk. i dont understand wat would compell sum1 to through shit over a bridge. i mean these ppl really are low (guess they progressed from spittn over the edge. and to think of the accidents that have happened and its still happening. also just as bad is ppl throwing crap outta cars. my mate had a jack thrown at his car and wasnt even near a bridge.

It would be hilarious if those little pricks ended up loosing balance and falling off the bridge, cause I'd run over their mangled bodies on the road, then chuck it in reverse and run them over again, maybe even do a burnout on them. :the_finge

It all comes down to discipline from birth, while the shits are learning. I say treat them like puppies, they shit in the wrong place or inside, put their entire face in it. The kid throws a rock and causes injury, injure the kid with any means possible (Be creative just like the dumb **** kid). Then once the kid is on the ground barely gripping onto life, whisper "AN EYE FOR AN EYE YOU F**KIN C**T".
