Errrr... I am with Telstra on their fastest fixed wireless speed plan, on a business account with a static IP. They are not rolling out your topology or fibre to the premises any more thanks to Turnbull. ,

I am with Aussie Broadband,I tend to download movies & TV shows that are not yet available.Use the Torrent download platforms, download is pretty quick, & I am only on copper to the premises. It is the fibre to the node though.I also do a lot of online gaming, no issues @ all.No complaints @ all.

You would be wrong on that on, most new homes( if not all) are FTTP in the A.C.T.We are currently house hunting in the Gunghalin area,ALL homes we have looked @ have it(fact).Every new home that is being built has got it, majority with CAT6.

No I am not wrong , of course developers of new estates are compelled to install the latest infrastructure. I am talking about the majority of existing homes that were having NBN fibre to the premises rolled out prior to the former Govt halting it and being replaced t with fibre only to the end of the street or fixed wireless. what has Cat 6 got to do with the price of fish?

Same in my area of SW Sydney. New estates got FTTP, existing only FTTN. It looks like by the time they roll out FTTC here, 5G will be both viable and better priced. |

Watching the new house next door get hooked up for NBN. Three blokes, been there since about 1PM. I can’t work out why they’re taking so long - and it’s only HFC!
My install was three blokes x20 minutes to run the catenary, lead-in conduit and terminate at the wall box, next stage one chap x30 minutes to pull the cable through my house conduit, terminate, fit wall point, commission and test NBN modem. Then one person x20 minutes to install and test Telstra gateway. |

Mine took 6 months to fight involving the ombudsman and winning. All because my street address wasn't on their database so they couldn't process the work order. Then when I did get it installed it only lasted a week. They forgot to enable the codes for a landline service so it was all cancelled. Guess what...it entailed a complete new install and yep...another ombudsman intervention to force the work order through. Now I have a free Telsra modem as well..it has a sim card and the modem works anywhere on 5G backup without a connection to NBN...am eploiting that to the hilt....
