Chairman's Award: Chairman's Award - Issue reason: Your outstanding contributions to this community have not gone unnoticed. IN my view you are a worthy recipient of the (rarely used) Chairman's Award.
Default Re: Commercial Fleet Insurance Questions

Almost there. I’m a bit perplexed by the incomplete statement they forwarded to me this afternoon: Do I fill in my own numbers and send it back?
Some notes on my experiences, in addition to the helpful advice from AFF - very genuinely appreciated.

  • AAMI have so far been “mostly good”. I was expecting a lot more trouble as a third party claimant.

  • Communications were not well followed up after the day of discussion, excepting the poor car hire company guy - sorry Dave; it was nothing personal but a hire car for assessing a sideswiped 20 year old ute would have felt like taking the pea eye double ess. My initial conversation with the insurers went MIA and we started again just a few weeks back.

  • Discussions I had with the assessors - and the notes they stated to be making about my claim, were not diligently read by the Total Loss team. This section also failed to read/confirm the documents they asked I provide, despite receiving PDFs within several hours of their RFI.

>>>Take your own notes as you go, double check peoples’ names and positions, write down the number they’re calling from and the times. Don’t rely on the insurer to manage your input well! Try to get on with the assessor(s), many come from a trade background and can be encouraged to let their hair down a little. This can help your final, adjusted sum. :-) <<<
